Big Squeeze

Directions

Wrap your arms around a pillow, stuffie, or yourself. Give it a big squeeze for 5 to 10 seconds, then let go.

How It Helps

Hugging something tight helps your body feel safe and calm by giving you a comforting squeeze.

Research shows that hugging or deep pressure can reduce stress and increase feelings of safety and calmness by triggering the release of calming hormones (like oxytocin).

Tip

If your body starts to hurt, stop.
